Había una vez una familia española que decidió mudarse al Reino Unido en busca de nuevas aventuras. La familia estaba compuesta por los padres, Juan y María, y su hijo pequeño, Antonio. Cuando llegaron a Inglaterra, Antonio quedó sorprendido por las diferencias que encontró.

Once upon a time, there was a Spanish family that decided to move to the United Kingdom in search of new adventures. The family consisted of parents, Juan and María, and their young son, Antonio. When they arrived in England, Antonio was surprised by the differences he encountered.

Lo primero que notó Antonio fue que los coches en Inglaterra conducían por el lado contrario al que estaba acostumbrado en España. Cada vez que cruzaban la calle, Antonio sentía que un coche venía directamente hacia él. ¡Qué susto se llevaba!

The first thing Antonio noticed was that cars in England drove on the opposite side of the road than he was used to in Spain. Every time they crossed the street, Antonio felt like a car was coming straight at him. What a scare he got!

Otra diferencia que llamó la atención de Antonio fue el horario escolar. En España, solían comenzar las clases a las 9 de la mañana y terminar a las 2 de la tarde, con una larga pausa para la siesta. Pero en Inglaterra, la escuela comenzaba mucho más temprano y no había siesta. Antonio se quedaba mirando el reloj, esperando que llegara la hora de la siesta que nunca llegaba.

Another difference that caught Antonio's attention was the school hours. In Spain, they usually started classes at 9 in the morning and finished at 2 in the afternoon, with a long break for a siesta. But in England, school started much earlier, and there was no siesta. Antonio would stare at the clock, waiting for siesta time that never came.

La comida también era completamente diferente. En España, solían almorzar a las 2 de la tarde y cenar a las 9 de la noche. Pero en Inglaterra, almorzaban a las 12 del mediodía y cenaban mucho antes. Antonio estaba siempre hambriento a las 9 de la noche y no entendía por qué la cena era tan temprano.

Food was also completely different. In Spain, they usually had lunch at 2 in the afternoon and dinner at 9 at night. But in England, they had lunch at 12 noon and dinner much earlier. Antonio was always hungry at 9 at night and couldn't understand why dinner was so early.

Un día, Antonio decidió hablar con sus padres sobre todas estas diferencias. Les dijo: "Papá, mamá, no entiendo por qué los coches van en dirección contraria, la escuela comienza temprano y la cena es tan temprano. ¿Por qué son tan diferentes las cosas aquí?"

One day, Antonio decided to talk to his parents about all these differences. He said, "Mom, Dad, I don't understand why cars go in the opposite direction, school starts early, and dinner is so early. Why are things so different here?"

Sus padres sonrieron y le explicaron que cada país tenía sus propias costumbres y tradiciones, y que era normal que las cosas fueran diferentes en Inglaterra. Le dijeron que debía adaptarse y aprender a disfrutar de las nuevas experiencias.

His parents smiled and explained to him that every country had its own customs and traditions, and it was normal for things to be different in England. They told him that he needed to adapt and learn to enjoy the new experiences.

Antonio accepted his parents' explanation and decided to do something to feel more connected to his Spanish culture in his new life in England. He came up with a brilliant idea: to create a Spanish club at his school!

Con entusiasmo, Antonio habló con sus amigos y compañeros de clase sobre la idea de un club de español. Les explicó que podrían aprender sobre la cultura española, probar comida española y aprender algunas palabras en español. Todos estuvieron de acuerdo en que sonaba divertido.

With enthusiasm, Antonio talked to his friends and classmates about the idea of a Spanish club. He explained that they could learn about Spanish culture, try Spanish food, and learn some Spanish words. Everyone agreed that it sounded like fun.

Antonio y sus amigos empezaron a reunirse después de la escuela para el primer encuentro del club de español. Trajeron algunas tapas españolas que María había preparado con cariño y compartieron risas mientras probaban cosas nuevas.

Antonio and his friends started meeting after school for the first meeting of the Spanish club. They brought some Spanish tapas that María had lovingly prepared and shared a laugh while trying new things.

Antonio les enseñó algunas palabras y frases en español. Todos intentaron pronunciarlas, aunque algunas resultaron en risas y confusiones. Después, bailaron al ritmo de la música española y aprendieron algunos pasos de flamenco.

Antonio taught them some words and phrases in Spanish. Everyone tried to pronounce them, although some resulted in laughter and confusion. Afterward, they danced to the rhythm of Spanish music and learned some flamenco steps.

Con el tiempo, el club de español se convirtió en un lugar donde los niños de la escuela podían aprender y apreciar la cultura española. Incluso algunos padres se unieron al club y aprendieron a bailar flamenco junto con sus hijos.

Over time, the Spanish club became a place where the schoolchildren could learn and appreciate Spanish culture. Even some parents joined the club and learned to dance flamenco alongside their children.

Antonio estaba feliz de haber encontrado una forma de mantener viva su cultura española en su nuevo hogar en Inglaterra. Se dio cuenta de que aunque había diferencias entre los dos países, también había muchas similitudes y cosas maravillosas por descubrir.

Antonio was happy to have found a way to keep his Spanish culture alive in his new home in England. He realized that while there were differences between the two countries, there were also many similarities and wonderful things to discover.
